What is it like being part of the life saving force?

Remember the entry that I posted earlier about SCDF and that my ambition was a fireman when I was young? If you missed it, you can read it here!
Anyway, few weeks back.. I had a visit to the Fire Station and it was really fun! A great learning experience too! I've learnt more about the SCDF, the roles and functions of its fire stations as well as the capabilities of its firefighters!
So what did we exactly do there?

Heres the friendly fireman that guided us through the trip!

We were briefed on roles and functions of a fire station, its capabilities and its routine! Look at our faces! Engrossed! Haha! Btw, went there with Ben bro and Shawn!
And not forgetting that we were also briefed on operational capabilities of the appliances in a fire station! Therefore we went to try out some of the equipment used by firefighters! My favourite part!!

The water gun!

Had fun!
Next we tried out the bigger version of the water gun! We tried shooting water with their nozzle!

Happy boy! Haha!
After that, I even tried out the oxygen tank that firefighters had to wear when they're action! Its quite heavy!

The front view looked like I'm carrying a school bag!
Anyway, we all even took this!

Weeeee we are up there!

Its high!

This is the thing they use to operate!

Smile for the camera!

You can see its around 5 storeys high!
And just before we were about to go off, some of the firefighters even did demonstration on the sliding pole..

We also went for some exhibition because its near the fire station!

Us in the fire truck!
Basically, I hope these somehow summarize how it is like to be part of the life saving force! Had a good time there too!
To end off with this, I strongly encourage you guys to visit the fire station if you're free! No admission fee is required and the open house are held on every Saturday from 9.00 am to 11.00 am.
Anyway, do visit SCDF website to find out more about SCDF's recruitment!
Goodbye!
